  • The education system in various countries across the world is different. Each system has its own way of bringing out the best in a student so that it proves beneficial for the country. In the United States of America, President Barrack Obama initiated a lot of changes in the education policies in many states across the country.

But just before the changes were going to come in to effect, oppositions came in to the picture. This last minute resistance was not expected just before the deadline. Many schools across various states like Ohio, California and others opposed to the reforms.

The teachers in various states have refused to play active roles and a teachers union in Michigan, Minnesota and Florida has told their local units not to sign the applications put forth by the states. Some rural states are aiming at a temporary opposition as they do not like the proposal of charter schools which if came in to action would absorb resources from the country schools.

The Governor of the States of Texas refuses to compete in the race to the top as he thinks it is an intrusion to the rights of the state. He said that his state would not compete for $700 million.
In spite of these last minute oppositions there were as many as 40 schools who were completing the applications before the deadline. However these oppositions will not harm the efforts made by the states to win some money.

The President of the United States has been so happy with the response that he wishes to hold this competition next year as well. Next year he will also extend the money. This was confirmed by the senior officials.

The secretary of education had criticized the education system of many states in the United States of America. This led to many school authorities from different parts of the country take various initiatives to reform their school policies much to the delight of the President. This gave more impetus to his vision of charter schools, highly qualified teachers and a nationalized effort to turn failing schools in to successes.

The learned men of the education system have affirmed that this policy has bought about many positive results. They say that without spending a dollar these reform measures have led many states in the country to change their education policies.

These initiatives have led to a lot of debates. One of the debates also said that the policies should not merely fund the poor schools and deprived students but should also do something to improve the standards of education. Some forceful action needs to be taken even if it becomes aggressive but the main point is that it is proving fruitful and that is very important.

Some schools in Nevada had opposed but later they fell silent because the tax had shot up that year. Many states signed the reforms only due to severe fund shortage. They are all fighting for the funds.
