Tutoring and Study Groups
The variety of academic assistance provided for students includes:
Individual and small group peer tutoring
Student-led study groups
Individual assistance provided by instructors
Individualized assistance is arranged based on student request or instructor/advisor referral. Peer tutoring provides assistance for students demonstrating a need for course content support. Study groups, primarily arranged to supplement difficult courses, are established at the request of the course instructor. Specially trained students, who have been recommended by faculty, provide the assistance in both of these situations. In other instances, instructors provide one-on-one support that extends beyond specific course content and assists the development of abilities such as critical thinking, analytical reading and writing, time management, and assessment preparation.
