The Mary S. Shook Student Health Services exists to meet the health needs of the students of Appalachian State University. All registered full-time students who are currently attending class are eligible to receive care at the Health Service. Students taking less than nine hours are eligible after paying the Student Health fee. A valid student identification card is required for any service.
Under the supervision of the Health Services, the Student Wellness Center offers guidance, programming, and information about wellness issues, including smoking cessation, substance abuse, weight loss programs, and stress management.
The Health Service and the Wellness Center are located on the Second Floor of the Miles Annas Student Services Building above the University Post Office and the Counseling & Psychological Services Center.
