A goal of EMU health services is to promote wellness and to encourage students to become responsible for their own health. The center sponsors preventive programs that address the various needs of young adults, such as nutrition, human sexuality, substance abuse, weight control, exercise and stress.
A resource library with books, periodicals, pamphlets, audio-visuals, and files on various health related topics is available to all students. The health center coordinates health care for students preparing for cross-cultural experiences, and the center provides comprehensive care for acute illnesses and women’s health issues.
Director, Margaret Carr Upton is a family nurse practitioner who is qualified to assess and treat students with illness or injuries.
