More Education Cuts Necessary, Brown Tells UCLA Audience

California Governor-elect Jerry Brown provided a grim forecast of the state's budget during a briefing at UCLA for state school officials.
Brown told local school officials and the chancellors of the University of California and California State University systems Tuesday that more cuts to the state's education system are likely.
''We will do everything we can to minimize cuts to public schools,'' Brown said. ''I can't promise you there won't be more cuts because there will be.''
