Students cry foul over LSU budget cuts

Over student complaints, the LSU Board of Supervisors juggled the books Saturday to impose larger cuts on academics on its various campuses and on its hospitals to protect the Ag Center and Pennington Biological Research Center.

The board was forced to make cuts to accommodate its share of a $106 million shortfall in last year’s state budget. Other higher education systems will also have to make similar cuts.
