The typical U.S. college student has never been regarded as a paragon of prudent financial management. These are, after all, the people who virtually made an art form out of cadging from their parental units, and turned 10-cent ramen meals into a minor food group.

PNC Bank figures it can help out these "poor" students" -- and boost its balance sheet at the same time.
