    The University of Michigan Law School invites applications for an Administrative Assistant within the Office of Career Planning. This is a dual-function role that combines executive-level support to the Senior Assistant Dean of Student Affairs with responsibility for supporting and coordinating special projects and activities within the Office of Career Planning. The role requires strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to anticipate needs, manage competing priorities, and ensure a high level of organization and preparedness. This role works closely with the administrative support team across the Office of Career Planning.

    We seek candidates who are analytical, outgoing, innovative, flexible, adept at teamwork and collaboration, have a strong attention to detail, and are committed to student success. This role works on-campus and in-person. Periodic evening and weekend work is required. Infrequent travel.

    Responsibilities*
    General Administrative Support:

    Provide high-level, confidential support to the Senior Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, exercising independent judgment, discretion, and strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
    Manage calendars, workflow, and priorities, ensuring materials are organized, deadlines are met, and follow-up is consistent
    Coordinate complex scheduling across in-person and virtual meetings, often on tight timelines
    Draft and prepare correspondence, including emails and other communications
    Support the Senior Assistant Dean and the Office of Career Planning in preparing and organizing materials and inputs for meetings and events, working with multiple stakeholders to ensure completeness and clarity
    Provide coordination and administrative support for special projects, events, and initiatives managed by the Office of Career Planning
    Organize materials, facilitate communication, and support project execution
    Assist the Senior Assistant Dean and the Office of Career Planning in managing priorities and deadlines across projects, taking initiative to move work forward and resolve issues as they arise
    Support coordination and planning of special events and programs with other offices across the law school
    Required Qualifications*
    Associate's degree with one + years of progressively responsible office experience or equivalent administrative work experience.

    Experienced PC/Google suite user; experience with calendaring systems (Google/ Outlook), Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required;

    Strong organizational skills

    Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detailAbility to multi-task, exercise initiative, and prioritize and balance multiple concurrent assignments and deadlines

    Must be able to work effectively with a diverse group of colleagues, faculty, staff, students, clients and visitors

    Excellent written and verbal communications skills

    Proven ability to work independently and as a team

    Superb interpersonal relationship skills and professional demeanor

    Ability to interact professionally with faculty, staff and students and the public

    Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.

    Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new computer software and technologies

    Must be able to handle highly confidential information and sensitive matters with tact and discretion

    Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.

    Desired Qualifications*
    Experience with M-Pathways systems, Canvas, Symplicity, and/or Paladin preferred
    Knowledge of University of Michigan policies and procedures
    Experience in student services, legal practice, event management, and/or higher education is strongly preferred.
