Job Summary
The Department of Accounting in the College of Business, the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Instruction in Accounting, APT. Applicants must have the ability to be qualified to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in one or more of the following areas: financial accounting, managerial accounting, accounting information systems, accounting analytics and taxation. Being able to teach in multiple areas is a definite advantage. Preference will be given to candidates who are able to attain and maintain Scholarly Academic status for AACSB accreditation purposes.
In accordance with USCIS regulations, successful applicants must be legally able to accept work in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The position responsibilities will include:
a) Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; participating in curriculum and course development and have a commitment to student success.
b) Customary service commitments to the department, college, university, community and/or profession; and
c) Maintaining appropriate AACSB faculty qualification criteria as defined by the Department.
Required Qualifications
1. Possess a PhD or equivalent in Accounting at the time of joining the faculty or be ABD and close to finishing the PhD.
2. Professional certification in accounting.
3. Professional work experience in the area of teaching.
4. All candidates should be teaching/prepared to teach in one or more of the following areas: financial accounting, managerial accounting, accounting information systems, accounting analytics, and taxation.
Preferred Qualifications
(a) Conduct research to attain/maintain Scholarly Academic status for AACSB accreditation purposes.

Department Information
The Department of Accounting currently comprises 18 full-time faculty members in the accounting area and three full-time faculty members in business law. There are 13 tenured or tenure-track faculty members focused on delivering a high-quality education and conducting cutting edge research in accounting. The department offers a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses serving students in the Ph.D., M.S in Accounting, M.S. in Taxation, Masters in Professional Accounting, BS in Accounting, BBA in Accounting as well as the MBA and Executive MBA programs.
The accounting program is supplementally accredited by the AACSB along with the accreditation of the College of Business. Faculty members pursue varying research interests and publish in leading journals in accounting such as The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Contemporary Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, Management Science etc.

The department and college sponsor regular research seminars, and faculty have access to an extensive suite of databases, including WRDS (CRSP, Compustat, Dealscan, FactSet, ISS, I/B/E/S, SDC, Boardex and others), Bloomberg, and Morningstar Direct.
The College of Business, which has been accredited by the AACSB since 1969, employs about 120 full-time faculty members and serves over 4,500 undergraduate students and 1,500 graduate students.
