    The Vice President of Workforce Partnerships and Institutional Advancement at the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) provides visionary leadership in building partnerships that advance the college’s mission to transform lives and strengthen the state through accessible, high-quality, and equitable education and training and expanding the college’s capacity through philanthropy, grants, and strategic community engagement. The Vice President will serve on the President’s Senior Leadership Team and the President’s Council. Additionally, this position will assume an active and collaborative role in the setting of the strategic direction for the college.
    Duties and Responsibilities
    Workforce and Employer Partnerships
    Cultivate and expand employer and industry partnerships to ensure CCRI’s programs meet the evolving needs of Rhode Island’s workforce.
    Partner with local, state, and federal agencies—including the Governor’s Workforce Board, Department of Labor and Training, and RI Commerce—to support workforce pipelines and credentialing initiatives.
    Collaborate with academic deans and faculty to align curriculum and non-credit programs with labor market data, including high-demand fields such as healthcare, IT, advanced manufacturing, and clean energy.
    Lead the college’s efforts in apprenticeships, work-based learning, and incumbent worker training programs.

    Institutional Advancement
    Lead CCRI’s advancement strategy and workforce innovation.
    Aligns workforce partnerships with institutional advancement activities.
    Cultivate, in coordination with IA team, relationships with donors, alumni, foundations, and corporate sponsors who support CCRI’s mission of equity and student success.
    Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and events aligned with college priorities.
    Oversee all phases of external funding including, state, federal and private funding.

    Community Engagement
    Champion the stories of CCRI students, alumni, and workforce outcomes to promote the college’s transformative impact on Rhode Island.
    Collaborate with public officials, community-based organizations, and economic development agencies to amplify CCRI’s role as a key workforce and education partner.

    Leadership and Strategic Integration
    Serve as a key member of the President’s Executive Leadership Team and provide data-informed guidance on workforce, advancement, and community strategy.
    Foster a culture of equity, access, and innovation that aligns with CCRI’s strategic plan and institutional values.
    Supervise and mentor teams across multiple departments to promote collaboration, high performance, and mission-driven impact.
    Minimum Requirements
    Master’s degree in business or related field.
    Experience in community college setting, teaching experience. Experience in finance, financial planning, and strategic planning.
    Demonstrated relationship management across functional areas, ability to cultivate and grow executive-level partnerships
    Experience in capital campaigns, philanthropic estate planning, and portfolio management for long-term financial institutional benefit.
    Demonstrated ability to lead teams to successful implementation of projects and strategic plans.
    Demonstrated commitment to CCRI’s mission and record of delivering on behalf of students.
    Strong understanding of the dynamics of organizational change and a commitment to engagement to effectuate that change.
    Strong communication, decision-making, and creative problem-solving skills.
    Competencies and Desired Qualifications
    Doctorate or terminal degree in a relevant discipline.
    Experience working within a community college or public higher education system.
    Familiarity with Rhode Island’s workforce and economic development landscape.
    Knowledge of relevant state and federal programs (e.g., WIOA, Perkins, NSF, U.S. DOL, etc.).
