As an R1 university, we make a significant investment in faculty research by providing support related to travel, technology, research databases, and development. We are one of the largest universities in North Carolina with almost 27,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Our main campus is in downtown Greenville, which is a rapidly expanding city and the predominant health, entertainment, financial, and educational hub of the eastern North Carolina region. In addition, many of our students come from rural communities with their own set of challenges and perspectives.

    The College of Business (COB) has been AACSB accredited for over 40 years. We offer BSBA, MBA, and MSA degrees and our School of Hospitality Management offers both a BS in Hospitality Management and an MS in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality. Additionally, the Miller School of Entrepreneurship offers a BS in Entrepreneurship. We are one of the largest Colleges of Business in the state with approximately 4,200 undergraduate and 900 graduate students. To date, the COB has approximately 150 faculty members of the highest caliber, skilled in the scholarship of research, teaching, and application of knowledge. A strategic goal of the college is to create an environment where the faculty, staff, and students can thrive and be personally and professionally respected.

    The Graduate Programs team is responsible for the administration of the College’s graduate degree and certificate programs within the College of Business. The College currently enrolls approximately 700 MBA and 75 MSA students in their programs.
    Job Duties
    The Executive Director of Graduate Programs is an integral part of the Graduate Programs team and reports to the Assistant Dean for the Thomas D. Arthur Graduate School of Business in the College of Business. The Executive Director is a key leadership role within the Arthur School and is responsible for the development and execution of strategic initiatives. The Executive Director provides operational oversight for all aspects of the Arthur School, ensuring alignment with the College of Business’s mission and strategic goals.

    Job duties include the following:

    Strategic Planning and Implementation (40%):
    Support the development and lead the implementation of the Arthur School’s strategic plan in collaboration with the assistant dean, faculty, and other stakeholders.
    Identify and evaluate new opportunities for program development, market expansion, and revenue generation.
    Oversee market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
    Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and make necessary adjustments.

    Operational Management (30%):
    Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Arthur School, including admissions, student services, program delivery, and alumni relations.
    Manage the Arthur School’s budget and resources effectively.
    Ensure compliance with all relevant accreditation standards and regulations.
    Lead and mentor a team of staff members, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
    Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the Arthur School.

    External Relations and Partnerships (20%):
    Support the cultivation and maintenance of relationships with key external stakeholders, including alumni, industry partners, and community leaders.
    Represent the Arthur School at various events and conferences, promoting its programs and initiatives.
    Develop and implement strategies to enhance the visibility and reputation of the Arthur School.
    Seek out opportunities for collaboration with other academic units and external organizations.

    Other Duties as Assigned (10%):
    Serve on College of Business and University committees as appropriate.
    Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the assistant dean.

    Minimum Education/Experience
    Graduate degree (MBA, MA, MS, PhD, DBA or EdD) from an appropriately accredited institution and demonstrated effective spoken and written communication skills. Knowledge of graduate business education.
    License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
    N/A
    Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
    Experience with strategic planning, organizational and project management skills; communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
    Demonstrated experience in a leadership role.
    Ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
    Experience with AACSB accreditation standards and processes.
    Experience with student advising and relationship management at the college or university level.
