The Lagor and Shroyer laboratories are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to study the physiological regulation of cholesterol synthesis in the intestine. The project has two main goals- to determine how cholesterol synthesis controls intestinal stem cell proliferation, and to determine how newly synthesize cholesterol impacts cholesterol excretion. Both aims will require extensive use of transgenic mice and intestinal organoids. The ideal candidate will have a strong molecular biology and animal physiology skill set. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is interested in pursuing an exciting research career in academic science.
