  • Foundations like schools, museums and libraries are considered to be nonprofit. This means that the country or the state cannot expect to get any profit or money from them. They are established for the service of the people. But the President of NBC news wanted to find out how these nonprofit institutions could emerge as digital technologies.

In the year 2001 a multibillion dollar trust was established for funding the learning of research technology. The organization says that it is time to establish the equivalent of what the national Science foundation does for Science and what Darpa does for the national defense of the country and the NIH does for health.

This organization is known as the National Center for Research in Advanced Information and Digital Technologies. This organization has finally been approved by the congress through the Education department and will be receiving the much needed grants.

The assistant deputy secretary for innovation and improvement at the Education Department has been taking care of this organization. This nonprofit establishment is waiting to explore opportunities for advanced technology from the point of view of learning. The authorities say that the time has finally come to start something new.

Creating support and help for this nonprofit organization was not easy. Hence the organization created 3 prototypes. This includes a video that educates the people about this establishment, its needs and goals, a video game for the students of biology and lovers of history and museums.

One of its measures also includes computer stimulation for training the fire fighters when it comes to dealing with high rise fires. They are taking these steps in order to gain popularity and more finance. The government had conducted an auction of a wireless spectrum but the finance from the auction never came to this establishment. This was very disappointing for them.

A proposition for $50 million was made which was granted in the year 2008. But the amount was reduced to $500,000 and the center had to solicit private funds. The authority said that the economy had collapsed and there was no money for this nonprofit organization of education.

But they are highly optimistic and are willing to start with whatever funds they have. He says that soon this establishment will see successful projects and will receive a lot of popular support and funds so that it can be used for the benefit of the students who are interested in this field.

This nonprofit establishment is going through a very tortuous journey due to the lack of support, help and funds but soon there are going to be brighter days when the National Center for Research in Advanced Information and Digital Technologies will be in league with other organization of its kind.

It has come a long way since it had been established. Today it has some support and funds from the congress and soon it will be a popular organization helping students in this field of technology research.
