  • Apparently, the public is questioning the guilt of Philip Markoff in the killing of a woman he found on Craig’s List. People are coming out of the woodwork to swear by his innocence and his charming personality. According to various news reports he has nothing on his blotter and he was a wonderful neighbour and fiancée.

However, why would there be pieces of evidence located in his house and he has yet to claim his own innocence? He appears to be very shell-shocked by the whole matter and he has not said a word on his own behalf. His fiancée contends that he did not do that of which he has been charged. Furthermore, he has no money and he owes over $130000 in financial loans for medical school.

His parents have not given him any money and no one has paid his bail. I still contend that there is an emotional mental condition which triggered Markoff to search the ads and approach the women, and now it has been alleged to be men as well, to either kill them or tie them up and rob them.  As I mentioned in another blog, he is under tremendous pressure and he could not stand it any further. Studying for exams, planning an extravagant wedding to a lovely lady and a huge debt load on his plate would be enough to put anyone over the edge.

So why him and not anyone else who is under similar if not worse stressful limitations? I still contend there is an underlying mental condition. With the proper evidence in the medical field Markoff could be designated as not guilty by reason of insanity, be placed in a psychiatric hospital, be absolved of all student loans most probably and not have to get married. His former roommate has stated that Markoff was the smartest fellow he had ever met.  This is probably the only way out for Markoff who had the predilection for searching the Craig’s List for vulnerable women.
