USF Sun Dome named a university top venue

The University of South Florida Sun Dome was ranked fifth in the nation by Venues Today magazine in its “2012 University Top Stops” list of venues with a seating capacity of 10,000 to 15,000.

The recognition comes in the Sun Dome’s first year of operation after a $35.6 million renovation was completed.

Philadelphia-based Global Spectrum manages the Sun Dome, which celebrated a grand opening last September with a sold out Elton John show, according to a written statement.
