University of Phoenix to close Salem location

University of Phoenix has announced the closure of a number of campuses, including its Salem location.

Phoenix lists three locations in Oregon: the Salem Learning Center on Hawthorne Avenue; the Oregon Campus in Tigard and the Cascade Station Learning Center in Portland.

The school’s parent company, Apollo Group Inc., made the announcement this week, citing a sharp drop in student enrollment. Apollo announced plans to close 115 of the university’s smaller locations, affecting about 4 percent....
