A&M planning to buy Texas Wesleyan law school

Texas A&M University has long wanted a law school. On Tuesday, it announced a plan to buy one.

For $25 million — $20 million upon closing and $5 million in five years — A&M would acquire Texas Wesleyan University's School of Law in an unusual partnership between a major public university and a smaller private institution.

The rebranded law school in Fort Worth would have a mouthful of a name reflecting its hybrid nature: Texas A&M University School of Law at Texas Wesleyan University.
