Princeton University to reimburse DOE $1 million for excess fees

Princeton University has agreed to reimburse the U.S. Department of Energy $1 million after the DOE inspector general said the agency had paid too much for housing and other costs for Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory employees who were doing research at other labs.

The university manages the fusion research lab in Plainsboro under a contract with the DOE, which also paid for two lab employees to do work at another fusion facility, General Atomics in San Diego, Calif., the inspector general....
