University of Sydney staff cuts to help fund projects

The National Tertiary Education Union rejected the savings plan announced yesterday as "unnecessary, arbitrary and unfair". The staff union demanded an urgent meeting with the Vice-Chancellor, Michael Spence, as a procedural step towards taking the dispute to Fair Work Australia for arbitration.
