UVM rises, St. Michael's falls in U.S. News ranking

The University of Vermont moved up a few places, St. Michael's College dropped a few and Middlebury College held its own, near the top.


That's the local fallout from the 2012 U.S. News college rankings, which came out Tuesday. U.S. News' lists are among the most widely cited, and among the most widely reviled, ratings in the increasingly crowded world of higher-education rankings.
