Central Michigan University football starts quick, wins season opener 33-0 over Hampton University

Central Michigan University scored 18 points in a one minute, 40 second span in the first quarter and rolled to a season-opening 33-0 win over Hampton University Thursday at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.

Hampton’s troubles started with 10:40 left in the first quarter when a snap on fourth and 20 sailed over Pirates punter Jordan Stovall’s head and into the end zone. Stovall recovered the ball and was tackled in the end zone for a safety.
Cody Wilson returned the ensuing kickoff 83 yards to the Hampton....
