Baylor Med's new partner talks greeted with petition

Baylor College of Medicine confirmed Tuesday that it is in discussions to partner with former parent institution Baylor University, but not before many on the Texas Medical Center campus and beyond began assailing the plan as a threat to the medical school's elite reputation.

The opposition is reflected in an online petition, which describes the Baptist university's mission as “incongruous” with that of the medical school and adds that “we cannot overlook the restrictive influence this potential....
