KU may raise admission standards

Officials at the University of Kansas are considering tougher admission standards, saying that many incoming freshmen aren't ready for the rigors of college.
A new state law lets the Kansas Board of Regents adopt different admission standards for the state's leading universities.

No specific changes have been proposed and the new law requires that tougher standards can't go into effect for four years to give high school students time to adjust.
