  • Job Summary
The Department of Biology in the College of Science, at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) (http://www.uta.edu/biology/), invites applications for a Tenure-Track faculty position in Genomics at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We seek to expand our strength in Genomics by recruiting a faculty member who will establish a nationally recognized, collaborative research program and contribute to our growing research community.

Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to, spatially-resolved functional genomics, cell signaling, genetics and epigenetics studies and other integrative approaches to understanding biological function. We seek applicants whose research uses genomic and related approaches at any level of biological organization across model and non-model organisms. Applications of integrative, mechanistic, and systems-level approaches to investigate the physiological, genetic, and epigenetic mechanisms that govern biological function, health, and disease would align well with the Department’s long-term mission.

For Assistant Professor applicants, successful candidates will have a doctoral degree in a relevant field and should demonstrate strong trajectory for acquiring extramural grant funding and the potential for producing high quality research and scholarly achievements that advance the field. Additionally, candidates for Associate Professor will be expected to arrive with actively funded research programs

New faculty will further contribute to the UTA community through high-quality teaching using evidence-based practices to engage undergraduate and graduate (Master’s and Ph.D.) students from various backgrounds and experiences effectively.

Start-up funds, salaries, and teaching loads are highly competitive, and successful candidates will have opportunities to apply for generous state funds with which the University and Department has had considerable success.
