    The department of Coatings and Polymeric Materials is seeking a Laboratory Research Engineer to work in its Combinatorial and High Throughput Research Laboratory. The Laboratory is unique in the United States and has numerous automated systems for carrying out polymer synthesis, coating formulation and application and coatings testing. Duties will include developing and maintaining programming for the combinatorial and high throughput systems, working with researchers to set up and carry out combinatorial experiments, maintain inventory of supplies for combinatorial systems and experiments, maintain combinatorial and high throughput equipment. Work with vendors to address faults, repairs, upgrades as needed. Assist in modification of combinatorial and high throughput systems.

    Hiring Range:

    $58,216 - $77,622

    Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    - BS degree in engineering, computer science or related field

    - Experience in programming

    Preferred Qualifications:

    - Demonstrated expertise in programming of systems

    - Five years or more of relevant experience

    - Some experience in polymer or analytical chemistry

    Core Competencies:

    The ideal candidate should have experience with programming, especially with programming and operation of robotic systems; experience working in a chemical laboratory. Preferred qualifications will include at least five years relevant experience; demonstrated expertise in programming of systems; experience in polymer or analytical chemistry.
