    The Department of History, Geography, and Philosophy at Columbus State University seeks applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Asian and/or Pacific World History. The start date for the position is August 1, 2026.

    Responsibilities
    Significant Duties and Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will teach upper-division courses in Asian and/or Pacific World History.; The successful candidate will have the ability to teach both halves of the World History survey (before 1500 and since 1500).; 4/4 teaching load.; The successful candidate will be able to foster an environment of professionalism and collaboration, work continuously to improve history education and engage in practices that support the University's focus on student engagement and active learning.


    Required Qualifications
    Required Qualifications include: Ph.D. in History or a closely related field.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Preferred Qualifications include: The successful candidate will demonstrate potential for continued professional development, scholarship, and community engagement.; University teaching experience.; The ability to teach historical methods.


    Required Documents to Attach
    Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position has been filled. Applications for part-time and full-time faculty positions must include transcripts of all academic work, and official transcripts must be presented before campus visit if selected for interview. Applicants must have the ability to meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements, in particular, a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
