Job Description
The Department of Biology at the University of Nevada, Reno, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to join the university starting July 1, 2026. The Department of Biology welcomes candidates with expertise in any area of cellular and molecular neuroscience. We particularly encourage applicants using innovative molecular and cell biological and/or omics approaches in model organisms or in organoid models. This position includes competitive startup funds to support research launch.
This Assistant Professor position is expected to develop nationally recognized, extramurally funded research programs, mentor PhD students, and participate in undergraduate teaching. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to recruit graduate students from multiple university-wide graduate programs, including the Integrative Neuroscience PhD and the Molecular Bioscience PhD programs.
Required Qualifications
PhD in Neuroscience, Biology, or related field; postdoctoral research experience.
Preferred Qualifications
A strong publication record: Research experience that complements and expands the research capacity of the department; potential to develop a nationally competitive research program; potential to develop strong teaching skills

Assistant Professor, 9-month
