Job Description
Idaho State University’s Department of Mechanical and Measurement & Control Engineering invites applications to join our team. The position is for a 9-month Visiting Assistant Professor position in Mechanical Engineering for the 2025-2026 Academic Year, starting August 2025. The successful candidate is expected teach undergraduate courses in mechanical engineering, and mentoring undergraduate student capstone projects.
Key Responsibilities
Potential teaching duties:
• ME 1150 Engineering Marvels and Civilization (3 cr.)
• ME 1105 Solid Modeling (2 cr.)
• ME 1165 Structured Programming (2 cr.)
• ME 2210, Engineering Statics (3 cr.)
• ME 2220 Engineering Dynamics(3 cr.)
• ME 3320 Kinematics and Dynamics of Machinery (3 cr.)
• ME 3322 ME Materials (3 cr.)
• ME 3350 Mechanics of Materials (3 cr.)
Minimum Qualifications
• An earned PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Experience (at least one year) teaching Mechanical Engineering courses.
• Familiarity with ABET accreditation
Preferred Qualifications
• 2+ years of teaching Mechanical Engineering undergraduate courses
• 1+ years of Industrial Experience
