  • Job Summary
    ETSU Office of Admissions is accepting applications for a Transcript Analyst. This position performs admission application review and determines eligibility for admission to the university; follows detailed procedures for processing electronic applications; processes incoming transcripts (received by paper or electronic submissions). Duties include the following for transfer and readmission students: evaluating college transcripts to determine transfer credit; applying university standards to determine admissibility; reviewing correspondence; answering related questions for students, parents, and university officials. Duties include the following for freshman students: reviewing high school units, calculating and reviewing grade point average and standardized test scores for qualifications and admissibility; telephone communication with students, parents, and high school/college officials; performing other duties as assigned.

    All positions at East Tennessee State University are contingent upon sufficient funding.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    Knowledge of university admission, registration, fee payment, and graduation requirements.
    Knowledge of computer systems and programs including new versions of Microsoft Office/Windows, and internet browsers.
    Knowledge of BANNER student information system and records management.
    Knowledge of Office of Admissions policies and procedures.
    Knowledge of university policies, procedures, structures, and services offered.
    Knowledge of university policies, guidelines, and criteria for accreditation.
    Ability to perform a high volume of work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
    Ability to understand, communicate, and apply university-level, college-level, and department-level policies related to undergraduate admissions, including but not limited to academic requirements, application deadlines, and admissions classifications.
    Ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) to applicants, students, parents, and university staff regarding admission procedures, policies, and other university related matters.
    Ability to prioritize tasks to ensure all applicants are being processed in a fair and timely manner.
    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
    Ability to problem solve and to work under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
    Ability to interpret and apply policies fairly and consistently.
    Ability to perform research, enter numeric data, and perform complex calculations.
    Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    Required Qualifications
    High School Diploma/GED
    Computer experience and technical skills
    Preferred Qualifications
    Two to five years experience in business or education.
