Position Purpose
A member of the Benefits team, reporting to the Director of Benefits, providing a broad range of benefits administration, research and customer service support. The support will include but not limited to benefits administration, general office functions (including the coordination of benefits billing and payments) and supporting other areas of the benefits, wellness and retirement programs as needed.

Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills
Knowledge of various computer applications such as MSWord and Excel
Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
Experience with financial transactions
Preferred Qualifications
In depth knowledge of health benefits, retirement plans and related federal/state regulations
Three or more years of human resource office experience
Experience working with Oracle, Banner, OnBase, and related programs
Experience working with both self-insured and fully insured health/benefits plans

Key Accountabilities
Description
Service and Support
Supports the benefits team with benefits processes, benefits programs, and customer support.
Monitors benefits office voice and email messages.
Assembles/tracks solicited information from employees, collaborating with all areas of HR to respond to questions and concerns.
Process the intake of issues and/or questions from employees regarding benefit plans, related policies, procedures, etc. and timely response or appropriate referral to inquiries as needed.
Monitors trends in employee areas of inquiry and makes recommendations regarding the development of additional resources to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Administers Dartmouth’s Educational Assistance and Grant in Aid programs.
Verifies eligibility, reviews forms for compliance with policy, determines tax impact and communicates requirements to eligible employees.
Coordinates benefit with each academic program leader to ensure that student records are accurate.
Responsibilities will include providing coverage to the payroll benefits administrator and disability administration.

Description
General Office Functions
Benefits invoice processing and management. This includes but is not limited to benefit calculations and communications to and from the finance department.
Performs the accounting/billing processes for all vendor premium billing and funding as required benefit plans, including variance reconciliation, and financial reporting.
Provides statistical reporting and detailed analysis to the Director of Benefits and other departments as requested.
Research and analyze employment and benefit history for reconciliation of accounts, which affect plan administration and audits.
Assists with general administrative functions of the office, such as filing and organization of data and records.
Demonstrate knowledge of benefits-related federal/state regulations, Dartmouth College policies/procedures and those actions necessary to remain in compliance.

Communication/Collaboration
Effectively communicate regularly with active employees, retirees, family members (as appropriate), management, staff and vendors via phone, email and written methods.
Collaborates with team members and establishes good working relationships with representatives from vendors, college departments, and other Human Resource colleagues.
