  • Job Summary
    The Department of Computer & Information Science (CIS) invites applications for a LEO Lecturer III position, starting August 27, 2025.

    Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in computer & information science as well as limited administrative duties in support of the department's programs. The full teaching load (100% effort) will be 12 credit hours during the academic year (Fall and Winter semesters). A reduction in teaching load may be offered to account for service and other assigned administrative duties, which include service to the department and the college, including mentorship and supervision of student professional societies.

    The Department of Computer & Information Science (CIS) currently enrolls over 1,300 students and offers educational programs, from undergraduate to Ph.D. levels, in the areas of artificial intelligence, computer & information science, cybersecurity, data science, and software engineering. The Department has 22 full-time faculty members and expects a period of dynamic growth with active strategic hiring over the next several years. The College of Engineering and Computer Science offers model educational facilities, well equipped laboratories, modern classrooms, and informal student collaborative spaces. The College employs a practice-based learning approach integrated with entrepreneurial-minded learning, and places strong emphasis on student experience and success. The Department and College are committed to the development and growth of a faculty body that thrives professionally and contributes to a positive student learning environment.

    Required Qualifications*
    A successful candidate must have:

    A Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science or Mathematics with a focus on cryptography or cybersecurity.
    Prior university teaching experience teaching core courses related to the position as well as other courses in the programs offered by the department.
    A record of research and/or work experience in cryptography or cybersecurity.
    Desired Qualifications*
    Professional experience, such as postdoctoral training or industry experience, is highly desirable for the integration of project-based learning into the curriculum.
