Description of Work
Perform financial management activities for gifts, grants and contracts received by UNL. Advise and train staff on compliance issues. Provide specialized guidance to faculty and staff in managing and closing out projects. Process and close awards. Prepare and sign financial reports and serve as a Sponsored Programs office liaison to funding sources. Perform specialized tasks for Post Award. Lead training sessions for departments. Provide oversight, training and/or mentoring for other OSP staff.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field plus 4 years of experience in an educational or governmental setting, including experience in the transactions/reports used commonly for research administration required; equivalent education/experience considered. Experience with word processing, database, spread sheet and presentation software necessary. Experience with accountancy essential. Work must demonstrate very few mistakes in transactions work, including account set up and manipulation. Demonstrated ability to stay on top of project tasks appropriately throughout project timeline essential. Ability to access database warehouse necessary. Must be able to complete work in SAP or other automated system quickly and efficiently. Must have minimum of four years demonstrated knowledge and ability from work experience or combination of post high school work in accounting, finance, or management to be a substitute on a year for year basis for the bachelor’s degree as needed. Knowledge of applicable rules and regulations – Uniform Guidance, FAR clauses and CFR required. Knowledge of federal agency-specific rules and requirements essential.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree. Experience in a university or state grants setting. Post Award grant management experience. Experience with all Microsoft Office products, SAP and UNL warehouse. CRA, CPA, and/or CGFM certifications.
