    Job Summary



    The University of Texas at Tyler (UT Tyler) Department of Civil and Construction Engineering and Management in the College of Engineering (COE) is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering starting in August 2025. The Civil Engineering program was established in 2005 on the main campus in Tyler, TX. In 2013, the College of Engineering inaugurated the Houston Engineering Center (HEC) on the Alief-Hayes Campus of Houston Community College, offering junior, senior, and graduate-level courses in civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering and construction management. This faculty member's location will be on the main campus in Tyler, TX. We are particularly interested in applicants whose experience, practice, and/or research have the potential to enhance the sustainability of the built environment and stewardship of natural resources. Applicants from all areas of Civil Engineering including structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, artificial intelligence applications in civil engineering, and construction engineering will be considered for this position. The candidate is responsible for supporting the teaching, research, and outreach mission of the department and performing assigned administrative duties.     Required Qualifications

    Successful candidates will ideally have an earned B.S. and Ph.D. in civil engineering or construction engineering from an institution offering ABET-accredited (or equivalent) degrees.


    Preferred Qualifications

    Professional and academic experience is highly desirable.
    Candidates should have a potential for sustaining a vigorous externally funded research program and a dynamic portfolio of graduate and undergraduate educational competencies.
    Preference will be given to candidates with a Professional Engineering license, or who are on track for such licensure.
