    The Financial Communications Director within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) is responsible for developing and executing a strategic and cohesive communications plan to support the OCFO’s objectives and ensure clear, consistent messaging across diverse stakeholder groups. This position plays a key role in crafting and implementing communications and change management plans for significant CFO initiatives and strategic priorities, while also overseeing multi-channel communications and content alignment across digital platforms and newsletters. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Strategic Communications Planning: Develop and lead a cohesive communications plan to ensure consistent messaging across all channels, with a focus on supporting OCFO’s customer service goals and strategic priorities.

    Project Management: Support the implementation of the OCFO strategic plan, including leading working groups, tracking and monitoring progress against key objectives, developing a cadence for tracking progress and communicating results to stakeholders.

    Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with OCFO staff and key university partners to communicate new initiatives, resources, and program updates that enhance CFO services and university operations.

    Change Management: Design and implement communication strategies to facilitate change management for critical CFO-led initiatives that support the OCFO Strategic Plan and other major university service initiatives.

    Digital Content Oversight: Regularly review and update the OCFO website, creating accessible, relevant, and user-friendly content that aligns with the OCFO’s customer-first approach.

    Executive Communications: Coordinate executive communications including, preparing presentations, materials, and talking points; assist in developing agendas and speaking points for executive meetings.

    Work Interactions

    The Financial Communications Director is integral to fostering strong communication ties across departments. Reporting directly to the Chief of Staff in the OCFO, this position collaborates extensively with CFO leadership, finance officers, department heads, and university communications to drive engagement and keep stakeholders informed.

    As the designated OCFO liaison on communications, will coordinate closely with the Office of the COO (OCOO)/Office of Strategic Communications (OCOMM), particularly the Director of Internal Communications, on university wide financial communications and other strategic communications in order to effectively communicate and protect the university's brand and position. This position will also work closely with the Business Design and Optimization Group (BDOG) to align communications and change management efforts for major projects jointly undertaken by the OCFO and BDOG.

    Requirements and Qualifications

    A Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, or a related field is required; A Master’s degree is preferred

    at least five years of experience in strategic communications, project management, or change management

    Expertise in financial communications is strongly preferred, with demonstrated experience in effectively communicating complex financial information to diverse audiences

    Ideal candidates will have experience in multi-channel communication strategy, digital content management, and stakeholder engagement

    Proven ability to develop and execute change management and strategic communication plans

    Proactive, detail-oriented approach and a commitment to fostering transparency and collaboration

    Ability to work independently on complex projects and lead efforts to build a unified approach to financial communications within the university
