Job Summary
Radford University invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track faculty position in the College of Nursing, with a specialty in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. This role offers an exciting opportunity to instruct and mentor the next generation of PMHNPs in a program that is primarily online. The successful candidate will exhibit a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service while advancing the university’s mission and the nursing profession.
Responsibilities:
Teaching: Provide high-quality instruction in the PMHNP program, including online didactic courses and periodic on-campus clinical intensives. Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to design, evaluate, and refine curriculum to reflect current evidence-based practices and meet accreditation standards. Student Support: Mentor and advise students, supporting their academic and professional development. Clinical Coordination: Support clinical education by maintaining partnerships with clinical sites, preceptors, and ensuring students meet clinical competency standards.
Scholarship: Engage in research, publications, presentations, and other scholarly activities consistent with tenure requirements.
Service: Actively participate in university, school, and community service, including committee work and professional organizations.

Physical Demands
Required Qualifications
Active certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
Doctoral degree (PhD, DNP, or equivalent) in Nursing or MSN and a doctoral degree in a related field.
Active, unencumbered RN and APRN licenses, or eligibility for licensure in Virginia.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior teaching experience in graduate-level PMHNP programs.
Expertise in areas such as reproductive psychiatry, addiction, or other specialized PMHNP practice.
Experience with competency-based education and innovative teaching methodologies.
Education
Doctoral degree (PhD, DNP, or equivalent) in Nursing or MSN and a doctoral degree in a related field.
