Job Summary
The College of Human Sciences is excited to recruit candidates for a Employer Relations and Professional Development Specialist. This role builds meaningful connections with employers that supports opportunities for career exploration, competency development, experiential learning, and post-graduation employment. Coordinates and delivers a career readiness program for all Human Sciences students.

Formal AU Title: Career Services Specialist
Essential Functions
Collaborates with college leadership to foster relationships with the employer community (business, industrial, non-profit, and government) that provides opportunities for students to develop professional skills, integrate academic learning with work, and secure jobs.
Conceives, designs, and implements a career readiness program accessible to all Human Sciences students.
Coordinates and delivers programs, seminars, workshops, class presentations, and events related to professional development skills with college departments, administration, and student organizations.
Facilitates career readiness within the college departments.
Collaborates with the college Communications and Marketing department to create informational materials to promote and market programs and opportunities to students, parents, faculty, and employers to increase student participation in programs and other activities.
Develops and maintains relationships with current and potential employers, alumni, and corporate sponsors, respecting the boundaries of Human Sciences Advancement and Advisory Boards.
Serves as college contact for employer engagement and shared software that facilitates recruitment activities for career services.
Track and report metrics of students’ career development and employer program outcomes. Provide annual reports and analysis to inform future development.
Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Level I: Bachelor’s degree in Human Sciences, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field with no experience.
Level II: Bachelor’s degree in Human Sciences, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field with 2 years of experience in coordinating and/or providing career services and/or programs
Substitutions Allowed for Experience: Yes
When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
Typical salaries will be between the low to mid $50k’s.
