  • Job Summary:
    Teach Zoology 101, Animal Biology, a gateway course for bioscience majors. This is a 3-credit lecture course offered as an asynchronous online course. Duties include managing course materials, preparing, administering, and grading exams and homework, holding office hours, managing student accommodation needs, and perform related duties. The instructor will also supervise 2-3 Teaching Assistants. The enrollment of the course ranges from 80-100.

    Responsibilities:
    Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.
    80% Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
    10% Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
    10% Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations

    Education:
    Required
    Master's Degree in a biological science field focusing on zoology, biology or closely related field.

    Preferred
    PhD in a biological science field focusing on zoology, biology or closely related field.

    Qualifications:
    Required:
    - 2 years of previous online teaching experience at the college/university level
    - 2 years of college/university teaching of general/introductory biology
