Summary
The Department of Humanities at BGSU Firelands invites applications for a qualified-rank (a.k.a., non-tenure track) assistant teaching professor in inclusive early childhood education with a start date of August 2025. This is a full-time, renewable, 9-month faculty appointment.
Information about Program and College
The Inclusive Early Childhood Education program at BGSU Firelands includes both an associate degree and a bachelor's degree. The program serves students seeking to teach Pre-K through Grade 5 elementary and special education. The bachelor’s degree licenses teachers in both elementary PK-5 and special education PK-5.

The Inclusive Early Childhood Education program is housed within the Humanities Department.
More than 50 talented and passionate faculty members teach across more than 25 undergraduate majors and programs, including 7 bachelor programs, and 15 associate programs. Essential Functions
Teach 12 credit hours per semester in the area of inclusive early childhood education.
Courses are primarily in person, but online and evening teaching may be required.
Participate in professional development.
Participate in department, college, and university service activities.
Minimum Qualifications
A master's degree in education with a focus on elementary education, special education, educational administration, curriculum, and/or a related field at the time of appointment
Experience as an intervention specialist, elementary education instructor, and/or inclusive preschool education instructor with at least three years’ experience teaching in a PK-5 general education. classroom, in a special education classroom, and/or as an early childhood intervention specialist
Evidence of a commitment to diversity and inclusion in the profession
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with elementary inclusive settings
Experience teaching elementary math or science education
Experience or training in the Science of Reading
Experience teaching elementary education courses at the undergraduate level, including as an appointed faculty member, part-time faculty member, and/or graduate student.
