We seek an interdisciplinary scholar who uses GIS to explore and understand human-environment interactions. The position requires fluency with QGIS and/or ArcGIS/ESRI software. We are particularly interested in candidates who connect their GIS scholarship to the broader world, for example by engaging affected communities, non-profit organizations, and/or policy makers. The successful candidate will teach five credits in the academic year including three sections of introductory GIS and two advanced GIS-related courses (or one laboratory course) in the applicant’s area of expertise. PhD required. Advanced ABD may be considered. Dickinson College and the Environmental Studies Department value excellence in teaching and scholarship, and we believe in fostering an academic environment that is welcoming for faculty, students, and staff with a wide range of identities and backgrounds. The ability to create inclusive learning environments for an increasingly diverse student body will be an important characteristic of the successful candidate.
