    The Office of Compliance advances compliance with applicable laws and policies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. We collaborate with University partners to minimize compliance risk and promote ethical conduct throughout the University. Compliance is a shared responsibility, with every member of the University understanding their responsibilities and being accountable for their actions.

    To support compliance with the new and expanded digital accessibility regulations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Office of Compliance is conducting a search for a Deputy ADA Coordinator for Digital Accessibility.

    The Deputy ADA Coordinator for Digital Accessibility develops and maintains a campus-wide digital compliance program to lead the University's shared responsibility in advancing seamless digital access and inclusion for disabled individuals. This position provides strategic leadership, guidance, training, and overall coordination for the University's adherence to the Americans with Disabilities Act's digital accessibility requirements, federal and state disability nondiscrimination laws, and the university's Digital Accessibility policy. The Deputy ADA Coordinator works across all types of digital assets, including course materials, websites, apps, libraries, and social media, and interacts with positions ranging from leadership, strategic partners, distributed IT personnel, the Center for User Experience, faculty, staff, and students, procurement, external vendors, and disabled individuals. This individual demonstrates a deep understanding of digital accessibility standards, uses effective communication skills, maintains high levels of interaction and professionalism, interprets policy and regulations, incorporates strong ethics in their decision-making, and offers sound guidance for the broad university community on how to comply. This position is in the Office of Compliance and reports to the ADA Coordinator.

    Responsibilities:
    Serves as the institutional compliance officer for one or more laws that affect institutional-level activities. Develops institution-wide policies, maintains compliance data, and oversees the compliance program and affiliated staff. Develops and delivers training, monitors institutional risk, and communicates risk and remediation strategies to leadership to ensure compliance with institutional policies and/or laws and regulations.
    10% Develops and maintains institutional and operating policies and procedures to ensure compliance
    10% Directs operational activities and staffing resources for compliance implementation, including outreach, support, and/or investigations
    20% Oversees, develops and participates in activities designed to raise awareness of the law(s) and its purpose
    20% Provides consultation for resolution of policy violations that involve students, employees, visitors, guests of the institution and/or applicants
    20% Serves as a subject matter expert for affiliated matters for internal and external stakeholders
    10% Provides guidance and oversight to university personnel compliance, policies, and procedures
    10% Assists ADA Coordinator with related accessibility matters
