    The Department of Theatre & Film at The University of Mississippi invites applications for an Instructional Assistant Professor of Film Production beginning August 22, 2024. This full-time position requires a terminal degree in film or in a related field. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate introduction to cinema courses, courses within the disciplinary expertise of the candidate, and performing service appropriate to the position including participation in shared governance. Courses may include topics in film appreciation, editing, cinematography, screenwriting, film studies, and more based on the portfolio of the preferred candidate. Additional responsibilities include mentoring students in the program and taking part in recruiting activities.

    The Department of Theatre & Film currently enrolls 120 majors with 20 full time faculty and offers a BFA in Film Production, BA in Theatre Arts, and BFA in Theatre Arts emphases in Acting for Stage & Screen and Design & Theatre Production.     Appointment: 9 Month

    Assignment Type: Non-Tenure Track

    Minimum Qualifications
    This full-time position requires a terminal degree in film or in a related field.
