    What we want

    We are seeking a Systems Administrator II to join the professional and progressive Division of Student Affairs IT Systems team to help design, implement, test, troubleshoot, and administer systems related to services and projects as well as participate in the application of and compliance with technical and cybersecurity standards. The position provides primary Tier III support for escalated issues and problems. Systems administration includes but is not limited to areas such as Microsoft and Linux server operating systems and their respective server roles, configuration management, off-the-shelf vendor and custom application support, automation, cloud services, virtual infrastructure, and enterprise server, storage and network infrastructure at multiple colocation data centers. A successful candidate will not only be technically competent, but demonstrate the ability to use critical thinking and problem solving skills and work in a collaborate, cross functional team environment.

    What you need to know

    Please note: Must be able to be on call and be able to perform system maintenance on nights and weekends as needed.

    Required Education and Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
    Three years of systems administration experience
    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
    Knowledge of troubleshooting and problem-solving
    Client relations skills
    Requirement assessment and analysis, project management methodology, context and interrelationships
    Knowledge of Information Technology Interface Library (ITIL)
    Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
    Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
    Preferred Education and Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree in applicable field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Technology Management
    Three years of experience as a Microsoft Windows Server 2012 or higher administrator
    Experience with Linux CentOS administration and configuration management
    Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, PowerShell, file and print services
    Experience with IP security cameras and management
    Experience with digital signage content management, displays and players, backup and recovery services
    Experience with centralized monitoring, centralized logging, endpoint protection, security/vulnerability scanning, cloud services, virtualization, as well as physical server, SAN and iSCSI network switch administration
