    Job Description:
    GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

    Manages the Museum's permanent art collection, loans, and all support documentation--such as database management; policies and procedures; object, artists, exhibition, and donor files; loan requests; conservation and environmental monitoring; accessioning and deaccessioning; rights and reproductions; and photography. Works closely with the Curator on all aspects of curatorial affairs, including oversight and coordination for logistics for exhibitions and loans, including the planning, shipping and installation of exhibitions.

    SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervises student workers and interns

    SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Executive Director

    EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Manages collection registration software/computer programs;
    Maintains object, exhibition and donor files;
    Processes loan requests, as directed by Curator;
    Manages accessioning and deaccessioning processes;
    Works with Curator to manage donor communications;
    Oversees collections photography, manages rights and reproductions requests;
    Oversees and coordinates logistics for exhibitions and loans;
    Works with Curator planning, shipping, and installation of exhibitions;
    Processes paperwork and documentation and maintains exhibition files;
    Monitors, assesses, and documents condition of collection and processes condition reports;
    Works with Curator to contract conservation;
    Monitors storage and gallery environments, manages and tracks movement of art objects internally and externally.
    WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to visually inspect artwork; ability to sit and stand for long periods of time; ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.; ability to climb ladders.
