    Information:
    The Department of Biology at Saint Michael's College invites applications for a three-year appointment for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology, starting August 2019. This is a full-time position, with the potential for conversion to tenure-track during or at the end of the term. This position is one of several new faculty lines for 2019 that are supporting an exciting campus-growth initiative in health sciences, public health and health care administration.

    Description:
    The successful candidate will be expected to teach introduction to public health, epidemiology, and at least two of the following courses: microbiology, nutrition, anatomy and physiology, and general biology. This individual will contribute to student advisement and mentoring, and engage in scholarly activities, ideally in a field that can provide opportunities for student involvement. Please note that the Biology Department does not have facilities to maintain live mammals or birds; the successful candidate should have a research program compatible with an undergraduate institution.

    Requirements:
    Ph.D. in biology or related field, completed by August, 2019
    College-level teaching experience
    Promising record of scholarship.
    Excellent communications skills, teaching experience, and a willingness to participate as part of a team of colleagues whose primary focus is contributing to an inclusive community of student learning and development.
