    The University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus seeks an Events and Community Relations Manager to work at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora.     Job Summary:


    The Center for Health, Work and Environment (CHWE) at the Colorado School of Public Health conducts research, offers academic training to graduate and postdoctoral students, provides professional development courses and events, implements community-based public health projects, as well as pilot project research opportunities. It is committed to partnering with community stakeholders who share the mission of improving the health, safety and wellbeing of workers, their families, and communities.


    This full-time university staff (unclassified position) Events and Community Relations Manager position will assist Center faculty and staff with various events and community project such as coordinating conferences, trainings, and other community outreach activities, including working with our Center membership. It requires someone that is passionate about connecting with people, detail oriented, very organized, a go-getter, and customer service driven. It will be part of the CHWE team, and have the opportunity to significantly contribute to a mission-driven organization and work alongside leading experts in public health.     Examples of Work Performed:



    Event Planning and Management

    Provide management and supervision for events including contracts, budgets, sponsorship, planning committees, logistics (catering, venues, registration) of all center-wide events.
    Manage planning, organization and execution of Center-wide signature events and conferences including the Annual Research Day Symposium, our membership and donor event, and the Health Links annual recognition event.
    Coordinate with the Center’s Communications & Media Coordinator to create and post content for upcoming events, campaigns related to the center-wide events.
    Manage planning, organization and execution of internal events for center team including annual employee recognition event and team-building activities
    Collaborate with the Environmental and Occupational Health Department faculty and staff to plan and execute school events such as the visiting scholar series, emergency preparedness workshops, and annual student “Oscar Night”.
    Participate on conference planning committees
    Oversee exhibitor booth and representation at local, regional and national conferences
    Work with finance team to manage and reconcile budgets
    Coordinate with staff to assist in implementation and dissemination of community-facing programs and projects
    Collaborate with continuing education and Health Links teams to plan and execute community trainings and workshops
    Track and report on event and outreach activities including reach, engagement, and recruitment
    Community Relations
    Cultivate and manage community partnerships to carry out our mission and vision
    Serve as the liaison for center membership to promote engagement with existing and prospective partners
    Coordinate with CU Advancement Office to connect with donor prospects
    Participate in leadership meetings to set direction for strategic partnerships and outreach

    Salary and Benefits:
    The salary range for this position is $54,603-$62,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:
    A bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting , education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
    Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
    The position requires extensive, diverse and progressively responsible experience at the management level, including direct responsibility managing events logistics, customer relations, and partner cultivation.
    Preferred Qualifications:

    Master’s degree in related field including business or public health.
    Demonstrated management and leadership skills in community and stakeholder engagement
    Demonstrated management and leadership skills in events planning/execution
    Expert ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities, manage time and meet deadlines
    Demonstrated experience in coordinating teams involved in conducting events
    Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the field of Total Worker Health
    Competencies / Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
    Outstanding customer service skills.
    Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
    Ability to plan, organize, and execute complex operational activities
    Ability to work independently, self-manage priorities and be proactive in resolving issues
