  • The Munroe Meyer-Institute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center invites applications for a tenure-track position in Developmental Neuroscience. Of particular interest to this search are candidates using molecular, genetic, physiological, and related approaches to study the etiologies, pathogenesis, and mechanisms of intellectual disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders. Applications at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels are welcome from candidates with Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degrees. The salary and start-up package will be competitive and appropriate to the level of appointment. The successful candidate will have an outstanding record of research achievement and the ability to attract significant extramural research support, and will be expected to lead an independent, collaborative program of research and academic activity.

    The Munroe Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation is a federally designated University Center of Excellence for Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. The Developmental Neuroscience group is located on one floor of the Durham Research Center II, one of a pair of research towers that house an active group of UNMC scientists in cell biology, pharmacology, neurodegenerative disorders, nanomedicine, and molecular genetics, and is directly across from the new Buffett Cancer Center. Available resources include Next Generation genomics, proteomics, mouse genome engineering, confocal, multiphoton, and super-resolution imaging, and a state-of-the-art animal care facility among others. In addition, the faculty of the Munroe Meyer Institute includes clinical and behavioral psychologists, M.D. geneticists, and a clinical molecular and cytogenetics laboratory with a strong patient base.
