Here are some of the main attractions beside the Great Wall itself:
1.The Temple of Heaven, constructed in 1406 for Taoist worship.
2.The Niujie Mosque, built in 996 during the Liao Dynasty.
3.The Forbidden City, which served as the home for Chinese Emperors for almost five centuries.
