It seems to me that the % of enrollment in community colleges are sky rocketed and the % of people going to private colleges have declined. (probably due to tuition fees). Also another observation is lending has moved from private to more federal programs.

We see these trends shift around alot. We still have tons of people taking online classes/degree. A lot of people who also work during the day do not have time to physically go to class. Also, a lot of people, who may not be able to afford a 4-year university at first, might go to community college for couple of years and then transfer later on.
