How long will it take a civil drafter to become a civil engineer?

First of all, a drafter doesn't necesarily have an undergraduate degree. So in order to become a civil engineer, you must go through a 4-year degree program.

Drafter makes pretty good money, but the only thing is most of the time drafters are contractors, so you may not get the benefits of a full-time employee and when the company goes bad, contractors are the first to let go.
