Would it be bad if I declined an acceptance to a college this year but reapply to the same college in a later year?

Getting into a prestious school is really tough. No one can be certain what will happen between now and the year to come. It's better to seize the moment and accept and attend. Or you may ask the university if they will allow a one year deferral.

It will be quite risky to get accepted to the school of your dream and forfeit that spot to someone else for whatever reason it might be. Don't put off school, some companies have strict policy about hiring candidates that possess degrees and some even look at the degrees from what school.
